Description

Blanton's Single Barrel Original was the very first single barrel bourbon to be launched to a nationwide audience in 1984. If your nation is the USA, of course. Fathered by Emer T. Lee, named after bourbon legend Colonel Albert B. Blanton, first distilled at the George T. Stagg distillery (as Buffalo Trace was called in those days). Blanton's Single Barrel Original has been a classic since day 1.

A deep, satisfying nose of nutmeg and spices, powerful dry vanilla notes in harmony with hints of honey amid strong caramel and corn. Creamy vanilla is teased with caramel and butterscotch, underscored by baking spices like clove, nutmeg, or cinnamon, with fresh orange and tropical fruit notes.
Palate
Initial sweetness with light caramel, honey, muted vanilla, and brown sugar. Notes of citrus and oak, leather, charred oak, and rye spice. Soft but rich flavor of burnt sugar and cloves, with tropical fruit, spicy virgin oak, and peach.
Finish
Crisp with vanilla, caramel, leather, dry oak, rye spice, and light peppercorn. A medium to strong and lasting finish bringing back corn and nutmeg flavors.
