Description

Borders Single Grain First Release is a whisky produced by R&B Distillers, who sourced the liquid from an undisclosed Highland distillery. It was created as a testament to the heritage of the co-founders' great-grandfather, who made whisky in the Borders town of Coldstream in 1820. This single grain whisky was finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks and bottled at 51.7% ABV. This is the First Release, with bottle number 3796.

Nose
It's a really interesting nose with vanilla, coconut, prune and figs. Chocolate biscuits, orange creams and and even some apple juice.
Palate
A lovely silky texture with vanilla cream, chocolate orange, fruit crumble, cherries, raisins and some coconut. You still get that creamy grain character but it works well with some dried fruit / sherry notes.
Finish
The creamy grain character and dried fruit/sherry notes linger.
