Nose
Slightly sharp, fragrant smoke, reminiscent of burnt paper, with vague lemony sweetness, a bit of black cherry, rich aromas of leather, shoe polish, wet bonfire, savoury herbs, a hint of tar, dark fruits such as dates and raisins, and cinnamon apples.
Palate
Thin mouthfeel leading into sweetly smoky flavours, a funkiness unique to Bowmore with burnt wood/burnt paper notes, rich with balsamic, plum pudding, dark butterscotch, a touch medicinal, and an oily, almost syrupy mouthfeel.
Finish
Smoky dryness, herbal with strawberries-and-cream and light smoke.
