Description

Finally: The Whisky Jury's very first Bowmore. This is mature, classic Bowmore: meaty and mineral, with fruit shining through. Smoke is only the faintest hint on the nose, but it really shows up in the finish. Luscious and lingering, this is exactly the kind of old-school Bowmore you sit down for.

Nose
Mineral and focused with wet stones, sea air and a touch of ship's timber. Behind that: ripe fruit, citrus zest, apricot and a gentle tropical hint that Bowmore can do so well. Smoke is very faint here, more a soft haze than a statement. With time, savoury notes appear, slightly bouillon-like and meaty, with subtle spice adding depth.
Palate
Full and oily with that classic Bowmore structure straight away. Fruit takes the lead, citrus, ripe peach and a touch of tropical, woven into salinity and mineral tension. Mid-palate turns broader with a light meaty tone, some nuttiness and an elegant spicy prickle. Smoke stays in the background at first, then builds steadily and adds definition.
Finish
Long and luscious, and this is where the smoke really steps forward. Soft ash and coastal smoke linger alongside salty seawater, mineral notes and a fruity sweetness that carries to the end. A classic, lingering Bowmore finish that keeps calling you back to the glass.
