The oldest operational distillery on the isle of Islay, built in 1779. Today it is part of the Suntory Group, having been acquired by the Japanese company in 1994. Under their ownership is has been nurtured into one of the most collectable names in Scotch whisky. The Bowmore Classic Collection offers a unique opportunity to sample this award-winning Single Malt Whisky in 12, 15 and 17 year old expressions. Each has been matured for 12, 15 or 17 years in bourbon, rum and Spanish sherry oak casks. The magnificent balance of peat smoke and the depth of time the spirit rests imparts subtle complementary flavours to produce the rich and big character of Bowmore.
