Description

A 20-year-old Distillery Exclusive from Bowmore, this release celebrates the legacy of its founder, David Simson, who was born in 1742. It underwent a double maturation process, spending 15 years in Oloroso Sherry Butts followed by 5 years in first-fill Pedro Ximenez Butts. This limited edition Islay single malt was released in 2020 at cask strength 50.7% ABV and was originally available only at the distillery.

Rich sherry notes with dark rum raisins, golden raisins, old leather, oak, burnt treacle, sultanas, molasses, Christmas cake spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, light smoke, stewed apricots, and a creamy vanilla note.
Palate
Very sherry-heavy with dried fruits, chocolate, salted caramel, cardamom spice, orange marmalade, tobacco, and a well-balanced smoke with salty and earthy notes.
Finish
Medium to long, with notes of sherry, leather, a small bit of peat and ash, and a salty, ashy bite.
