Nose
Familiar Islay Smoke & Ash notes mix with Raisins, Sultanas and Prunes along with Dark Chocolate, Honey and Malt. Musky, musty old European oak and sherry, with a stinky fruitiness like durian fruit.
Palate
Raisin and Sultana with Plum, Toffee, Syrup and warming Festive Spice, underlined with peat influence (less smoky than the nose). Rich sweet red fruits and woody with old wet oak. Pomander, dried oranges and cloves, with a little five spice, nice cigar, and mellow sherry. Old wet lightly bitter oak.
Finish
Good length, with a little deep peat smoke, tiger balm and gentian eau de vie. Very long, salty aftertaste, sharply salty, citric and with beautiful subtle peat smoke and medicine notes along with a background of exotic fruits.
