Description

* The oldest operational distillery on the isle of Islay, built in 1779. Today it is part of the Suntory Group, having been acquired by the Japanese company in 1994. Under their ownership is has been nurtured into one of the most collectable names in Scotch whisky.

Lightly peated maple syrup, honeyed sugar, citrus, gentle smoke, fruit rinds, sand, marshmallows, seaweed.
Palate
Fresh mint leaves, muddled mint and lime, synthetic caramel (Werther's Originals, chewing toffee), sour, chalky peat, earthy backbone, peach schnapps, salt, seaweed, dense sweetness, farmy funk, floral perfume, soapy notes.
Finish
A little underpowered and slightly watery, Parmesan, bitter floral perfume note.
