Description

The oldest operational distillery on the isle of Islay, built in 1779, Bowmore is part of the Suntory Group. This particular release, 'The Lowest Tide', is the second release in the Woolf Sung Collection. Distilled in December 1991, this single cask Bowmore spent 26 years maturing in a Sauternes wine cask until May 2018. It was bottled at natural cask strength with an outturn of just 287 hand-numbered bottles, presented in a stainless steel black powder-coated bank vault case.

Raisin-lashed beach, charcoal smoke and burning heather with after notes of honeycomb and lemon sherbet.

Yuzu, Szechuan pepper and thin cut marmalade with subtle hints of peat and Manuka honey.

A still sea stretching to the horizon with a mist of peat smoke rolling over the surface. Lovely smoked sea salt, greengage and kaffir lime leaf.
