Description

The Bowmore Timeless Series 27 Year Old is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky, with only 3,000 bottles released worldwide. It was matured for 15 years in a combination of sherry and ex-bourbon casks, then transferred to first-fill Oloroso sherry butts for an additional 12 years. Bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 52.7% ABV, this expression is presented in an hourglass-shaped black box, often accompanied by an hourglass to encourage savoring its aromas.

Nose
Fruity cooked plums and prune jam. Corinth raisins and sultana notes with a strong Oloroso influence. Toffee and maple syrup, liquorice, grilled orange peel and smoked seaweed.
Palate
Sweet with chestnut honey and strong bee's wax, fresh leather and Montecristo cigar tobacco, roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate with a hint of oak tannins. Rich up front with waxy clover honey, butterscotch, and berries giving way to black pepper and phenolics in the form of rubber and tar.
Finish
Long with scented burnt wood notes, dry fruits and a touch of frankincense. A tantalizing finish showcases oyster brine and iodine along with a swirl of flavors including dulce de leche, strawberry ice cream, leather, oak, and campfire smoke.
