- Nose
- That typical Brora dirty note of stable is present, not overwhelmed by sherry, with a shy note of soffritto, slightly meaty. Gentle hint of wax and a delicate, stealthy smokiness increasing with time. Ripe fruits like apples, apricots, caramelized orange, molasses, brown sugar, and a biscuity side. Discrete winey notes with strawberries and red fruits. Warm, dense, evolving flavors, with nervous peat becoming more intense.
- Palate
- Surprisingly, the waxy, dirty side is almost gone, replaced by unstoppable fruitiness. Round and smooth, with ex-sherry casks playing a main role without losing elegance. Red fruit jam, oranges, apricots, dried plums, banana, toffee, licorice, sweet smokiness like pipe's tobacco, and nutmeg.
- Finish
- A nice taste of warm hay returns, with spiced wood (nutmeg), caramel, and a deep fruity soul. Pipe's smoke again. A super-complex, fruity, balanced, slightly smoky, round, evolving, intense, drinkable, and charming whisky.
