Description
A storied distillery in the Sutherland area of Scotland. Despite having closed in 1983, it developed cult status for the high quality single malt it had produced, particularly a peated style between 1969 and 1973. Such was its popularity, it was eventually rebuilt by Diageo and opened again in 2021. Formerly the premium label in the portfolio of independent bottler, Gordon & MacPhail. The 'Rare Old' range was reserved for the company's oldest and rarest single malt stocks and was produced from 1996 until 2018. This Brora 1982 was distilled just one year before the distillery ceased production, and matured in a refill Sherry puncheon.
