Mothballed by previous owners Whyte & Mackay, Bruichladdich distillery was revived in the year 2000 by independent bottler Murray McDavid. For a long time the distillery was the black sheep of Islay, on account of producing unpeated whisky in order to meet its owner's blending requirements. Citrus fruits, honey, mature pears and apples. Some honey melon and sweet summer fruits.
Palate
Full of sweetness and a lovely heat. Then the spices appear, as well as some almonds. Some citrus and green apples, but also oak wood and oily.
