Nose
Very fragrant with sweet exotic fruit, salty sea air, peach, kumquat, apple candy, passion fruit, mango, fruit syrup, orange marmalade, a touch of mint, and a hint of smoke. Also notes of sherry, vanilla, maple, oak, butter, brown sugar, fresh baked bread, honey, lemons, licorice, and raisins.
Palate
Oily delivery with candied orange peel and apple, more smoke. Richly sherried with toffee, dates, strawberry jam, spicy, resinous. Crushed barley and orange oil. Dry, dusty grain balanced by rich, honeyed, nutty overtones, a salty maritime tang, and subtle fruit and floral aspects.
Finish
Medium and peppery with traces of the sea and honey. Rich and mouth filling with candied citrus and more smoke. Raisins. Spicy and warming.
