Description

Bruichladdich Octomore 09.1 Dialogos is a bold and uncompromising Islay single malt whisky, part of the 'Dialogos Series'. It is super-heavily peated to 156 PPM and aged for 5 years in first-fill American oak casks. Distilled in 2012 from 100% Scottish barley, it challenges the idea that age defines quality, focusing on raw ingredients and considered distillation. It is non-chill filtered and coloring free.

Bold and quite sweet profile with notes of milk chocolate, chimney and salty smoked meat. Initial blast of powerful peat smoke, underlying notes of salted caramel and citrus zest. Light mix of sweet, sour, coastal and mineral notes.
Palate
Viscous, oily texture. Huge smoke balanced by sweet vanilla and brown sugar. Hints of toasted almonds and dry oak. Powerful yet controlled. Rich peat, charred oak, and sweet vanilla.
Finish
Medium to long with beautiful profile of roasted coffee, nutty cream and lingering smoke. Long, dry, and intensely smoky, yet surprisingly smooth. Long, warming, and deeply smoky.
