Description
This ongoing series from Bruichladdich is the most heavily peated whisky in the world. Named after James Brown's farm that is situated above Port Charlotte, this Brobdingnagian whisky deftly lives up to its description as, "The iron fist in the velvet glove". This Octomore 7.3 is only the second release made from barley grown at its namesake farm, two miles down the road from the distillery. Distilled in 2010, it was matured for five years in American bourbon barrels and Spanish Ribera del Duero wine casks, peated to 169ppm, and bottled at 63% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and natural in color.
