Nose
The nose immediately hits with strong furniture polish mixed with dried fruit peels. Rich dark fruit cake, blackcurrants, raisins, black cherry, Turkish delight, massive sherry, smells much stronger than 46%.
Palate
Huge sherry burst, massive power zesty with loads of spice thrown in. Dark rich plum, blackcurrants (Ribena) a little raspberry. The palate settles down and it is still very rich, the sherry just keeps coming in waves over the tongue.
Finish
For 46% it is massive, long, fruity and very rich.
