Description

Mothballed by previous owners Whyte & Mackay, Bruichladdich distillery was revived in the year 2000. This Limited Edition from Bruichladdich is the third in a series released to commemorate the finding of a small yellow submarine on Islay. Head Distiller Adam Hannett hunted out the last parcel of the original 1991 spirit, now at 25 years old, and presented it as 'WMD III - The Legend Resurfaces'.

Notice the influence of wine, along with a slightly oriental sweetness, herbal honey, lavender, fennel, damp grasses, a hint of toasted oak, marzipan, sweet malt, peach and bitter orange, a few wild berries and fresh cocoa beans.
Palate
Plum and tangerine, fennel, damp grass, sweet malt, chamomile tea, cranberries, oak laid in herb honey, very rounded, oily, soft, vinous.
Finish
Cereals, cranberries particularly succinct here, malt, oak comes out a little more, medium length.
