Description
Bruichladdich X4+3 is an experimental, limited-edition Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, quadruple distilled and aged for 3 years. It was released in 2009, reviving an ancient technique of quadruple distillation from a 1695 recipe. The spirit was matured in a mix of traditional bourbon casks and specially commissioned virgin oak hogsheads. This unpeated whisky was distilled by Master Distiller Jim McEwan in 2006. It is bottled at a high strength of 63.5% ABV and is non-chill filtered. Only 15,000 bottles were released.
