Description

A 37.5cl bottle of Buffalo Trace 13 Year Old bottled for the Experimental Collection. This was distilled on 1 May 2002, matured in charred white oak barrels and bottled on 20 August 2015. This bottling explores how stave drying time affects whiskey. In this case, the oak staves were air-dried for 3 months. This Buffalo Trace 2002 13 Year Old sold at our online auction for GBP 160

Rich with woody notes and an array of blends, toffee and a slight spice. A bit more traditional – caramel, vanilla, spice, and oak. A caramelized cherry note is also present.
Palate
Caramel and vanilla balanced with notes of cocoa, oak & leather. Rich, complex, and smooth. Oak spiciness shines here, along with fruit and light burnt sugar.
Finish
Medium. Very balanced and pleasant. Long, satisfying finish, and comes across as sweet.
