Description
Islay's remote north east coast might seem a strange place to find a substantial Victorian distillery, but it was chosen in 1881 by William Robertson in partnership with Greenlees Bros. as the perfect spot for his island vision. Constructing it meant not only building the distillery but houses as well, putting in a road, and adding on a pier so that casks and barley could come in, and whisky go out. This Bunnahabhain 2004 Moine Sauternes Finish is a 16-year-old single malt, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2021. It was initially matured in refill hogsheads and then finished for 7 years in Sauternes white wine hogsheads. This is a peated, non-chill-filtered, and natural color expression, part of the 'Moine' series, which means 'peat' in Scottish Gaelic. It is a distillery exclusive release.
