Description

Bushmills 12 Year Old Three Woods is a triple-distilled single malt Irish whiskey. It undergoes initial maturation for a minimum of 11 years in a combination of ex-Oloroso sherry and ex-bourbon casks, followed by a finishing period of 6-9 months in Marsala wine casks. This triple-cask maturation process imparts a rich and complex flavor profile with notes of dried fruit and nuts.

Nose
Floral and fruity with notes of pear, pineapple, sultana, honey, and caramelised pear, complemented by crisp green apple, vanilla patisserie custard, candied lime, dried apricot, hazelnut praline, chestnut puree, cinnamon, and fennel seed. Hints of cloves, sandalwood, pastry, and a subtle touch of leather.
Palate
Silky and luscious, with sweet and fruity elements. Rich honey, cherry-flavored fruit jellies, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, dried fruit, hazelnut, cashew, macadamia, and baking spices. A light tart note prevents it from being overly rich, with a slight mineral undertone.
Finish
Sweet and rich, with lingering sugary sultana and tropical fruit notes. Dries out with nutty characteristics, toasted oak, hazelnut, white grape, honey, and a gentle touch of white pepper. Moderate in length with classic Sherry influences.
