Description

The Bushmills Sherry Cask Reserve is part of the Steamship Collection, launched in 2016 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the SS Bushmills maiden voyage. This triple distilled Irish single malt whiskey is matured exclusively in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, offering rich notes of dried fruits, nuts, and warm spice. It was originally created for the Travel Retail market.

Nose
Sweet and rich with jammy red berries and ripe pear, burnt toffee notes, raisins, dried fruit, vanilla, light spice, and robust aromas of juicy dried fruits, prunes, dates, spicy honey, and dark chocolate.
Palate
Pineapple chunks drenched in rum and dotted with real cherries, thick sweet chocolate, soft and fruity with caramel, dark fruits and gentle wood, sweet and fruity (peach), then strong and spicy, almost hot, full-bodied and creamy-smooth with dried fruits, chocolate, nougat, and roasted nuts.
Finish
Mince pies, light fruity esters, a touch of cinnamon, medium length, slightly sweet and round, medium-long, becoming increasingly dry, a spiciness builds up, somewhat metallic, with hints of dark forest honey, chocolate, and roasted nuts, and fruity tones.
