Description

The powerhouse grain distillery within the Diageo portfolio which provides fillings for a number of its flagship blended Scotch brands. It was built in 1824 by John Haig & Co and became one of the six founding distilleries of the Distillers Company in 1877. A brand of independent Scotch whiskies, selected from other distilleries by former Bruichladdich master distiller, Jim McEwan, and bottled by Jim McEwan's Celtic Heartlands. This Cameronbridge expression is a 33-year-old single grain whisky, distilled in 1974 and bottled in 2007. It was matured in American Oak Casks and bottled at 48.3% ABV. Only 1,600 decanters were produced for this limited edition release.

Nose
Marzipan and fudge dominate the nose, backed by ever so subtle phenol notes. With time the spirit softens out, melon, apple notes, the perfume of a wild meadow all mingle with more robust bourbonesque notes.
Palate
The main event is something special! Butterscotch, fresh mint, vanilla and almonds all mingle beautifully, wave after wave of luscious crème caramel, Madeira cake and spun sugar coat the palate with an intense richness and complexity.
Finish
Soft, balanced and beautifully constructed, you will be back for more!
