Description

The Caol Ila 16 Year Old Feis Ile 2020 is a limited-edition special bottling released to celebrate the 2020 Islay Festival. Distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2020, this single malt was initially matured in refill bourbon hogsheads and then finished in Amoroso sherry-treated hogsheads. It was personally selected by Distillery Manager Pierrick Guillaume and bottled at natural cask strength of 53.9% ABV. Only 3,000 bottles were produced.

Nose
Fresh and fruity with citrus, sea salt, seaweed, liquorice, and subtle peat-smoke. Hints of caramel/vanilla fudge and Serrano ham. With water, sweeter with dried and fresh fruit, grapefruit and peaches.
Palate
Salty and citric, prominent Caol Ila peat, ash, pepper, liquorice, ginger, dill, and spicy notes. Creamy with dried fruit and toffee. With water, more citrus and malty sweetness.
Finish
Long, salty, earthy peat with spicy citrus, vanilla sweetness, woody, and ashy. Charred fruits, smoldering wood embers, and dried grass.
