Description

This is the third release in the Scotch & Tattoos series by Torsten Paul Whisky Company, an independent bottler. It is a 13-year-old single cask Caol Ila single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 54.4% ABV. Matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead, it was bottled without chill filtration and with natural color, with an outturn of 284 bottles.

Nose
Clean, coastal, and fresh with notes of sea salt, pebble beach, and vegetal peat. It also presents fruit salad aromas of melon, white grape, banana, lychees, tangerine, and apple juice, alongside vanilla, almond, licorice, and peppermint.
Palate
Sweet, nutty maple syrup and bold, balanced peat smoke lead the way. It's creamy and oily, with notes of citrus, salted caramel, poached plums, grilled peach, Danish pastries, orange zest, and candied red onions. Salty, with hints of ash, kiwi, honey, vanilla, caramel, and a peppery touch.
Finish
Long and satisfying, with woody spice, scorched earth, dense smoke, and black tea. Lingering notes of cough drops, dried honeyed fruit, bonfire embers, barley, bagels, melon, pain au chocolat, almond, ham, matches, cheddar, mushrooms, fried bread-crumbs, and a drying sensation of sulphur and lemon zest.
