Description

This 15-year-old Caol Ila single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2023 by independent bottler Valinch & Mallet as part of 'The Spirit of Art' series. It was aged for 13 years in an ex-bourbon cask and then underwent a 2-year secondary maturation in an old (approximately century-old) ex-sherry Bota de Punta/Bota No.2 cask. Only 485 bottles were produced for this limited edition release.

Nose
The cask makes itself felt, but this time it does not completely transform the malt. Red fruits accompanied by sweet peat from Caol Ila, salty sea breeze, dates, sultanas and raw muscovado sugar.
Palate
The taste is sweet and sour, candied lemon is added to the red fruits and bitter cocoa is added to the dates and sultanas.
Finish
Medium long finish and corresponding to the palate.
