Description
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) was founded in Edinburgh in 1983. It uses a unique code system where the first number refers to the distillery. This particular bottling, 38.22, is a 25-year-old Caperdonich distilled in 1992. Caperdonich, a Speyside distillery, was originally known as Glen Grant No. 2 and operated from 1898 to 1902, and then from 1965 to 2002 before being demolished in 2011. This single cask release, named "Love letters on linen paper," was matured in a refill bourbon barrel and bottled at 51.0% ABV. SMWS is an independent bottler known for its single cask releases.
