Nose
Refined, complex. Powdery (rice), mentholated, and resinous, with captivating scents of candied lemon, almond milk, walnut, vanilla, yellow flowers, and verbena. Deep honeyed sweetness with a touch of mulled wine, light tannins of grape skins, and a farm-y, lactic quality. Elegant and moderately sweet aroma of cinnamon and berries.
Palate
Clean, lively, juicy (grape, pear) and mouthwatering, supported by herbal and citrusy acidity. Develops into flavors of dried fruits (fig, date, currant). Punchy, well-rounded, with a good balance between cask and distillate. Fruity and spicy with a smooth alcohol attack.
Finish
Long, soft, delicately tannic, and tenderly chocolaty. Radiant, becoming increasingly heady (orris concrete), honeyed, and vanilla-flavored. Nobly spiced (cardamom, ginger). Good depth with a wonderful expression of flavor and texture. Refreshingly oaky and pleasantly spicy, with a lingering finish.
