Nose
Ample and deep. Peaty, oily, spicy (clove, curry), and camphor-like, the initial nose makes a strong impression. Then, notes of bourbon vanilla, roasted pineapple, tobacco, and heady flowers (iris, lily) confer great smoothness to the aromatic palette.
Palate
Dynamic and creamy. Indulgent (vanilla flan), the palate attack is pleasantly saline. Blocks of peat then pour over the taste buds. At times reminiscent of Jamaican rum, the flavor profile becomes increasingly oxidative.
Finish
Long and intense. Saturated with peaty and smoky notes, the beginning of the finish is balsamic (cough drop) and indulgent (toasted bread, flambéed banana). The aftertaste is rooty (gentian) and is chocolatey, fruity (pear), and infused (black tea).
