Description

The fifth release of the Chichibu Paris Edition, this 2022 edition was matured in a combination of bourbon casks and refill ex-peated Chichibu casks. It features a total of 36 different labels that carry artwork by French painter Henri Rivière (b.1864-d.1951), depicting his Thirty-Six Views of the Eiffel Tower. This particular bottle is number 1911 out of 1980. The Chichibu distillery, located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, was established in 2008 and is known for its single malt whiskies. This Paris Edition is an exclusive blend released annually in collaboration with La Maison du Whisky for the French market.

Nose
Delicate and harmonious, with elegant peat blending with white fruits like pear and apple, nuances of sage and tarragon, green almond, vanilla, and freshly cut hay.
Palate
Lively and harmonious, dominated by oily peat, green notes of barley, lemony and fruity flavors (Williams pear, menthol), and exotic notes (pineapple, green banana). Smooth and balanced with sweet honey, chocolate, spices, and baked apple.
Finish
Long and subtle, a perfect fusion of nose and palate aromas, reminiscent of a lime and basil tart, evolving into barley sugar, agave honey, and coconut milk, with peat taking on accents of licorice and chocolate.
