This Japanese single malt whisky, part of the Japan Warrior Series Number One, was distilled at Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery in 2009. It was matured in a sherry puncheon until June 2013, then finished in a white wine cask for four years before being bottled at 61.9% abv in September 2017. This single cask expression was released as a German market exclusive and is considered a rare and highly sought-after bottling, with only 265 bottles produced worldwide.

The long, oily finish gives this one a clear point of interest, with sweet syrup menthol alongside grapefruit bitterness and green tea. That mix sounds more appealing to me than a finish that stays purely sweet, though the bitterness remains a noticeable part of it.
