Nose
Delicate tropical fruits, including pineapple and assorted citrus. Earthy and creamy vanilla notes. Hints of dark chocolate and cacao nibs. Orchard fruit compote, sweet, vanilla; pleasant honeyed sensation, sweet peppery spices, fine smoke. A deep sweetness, honey, stewed green apples - lightly tart and green. Black pepper and eucalyptus, manuka honey. A touch of sourness of overripe orchard fruit skins and medicinal touch of dried ginseng and camphor. A little bit of smoke but it's not particularly distinguishable from the overall heat. Continues to get brighter and sweeter with time, with more on peach compote.
Palate
Full and elegant. Just as fruity and rich on the palate. The same tropical notes dominate. Hints of smoky chocolate. Creamy vanilla, green tea and ginger. Sweetness on the palate, fruits cooked on baked apple, honey, spices on cinnamon and white pepper, toasted and spicy scent more than smoky, blended in the background for sweet scents. Honeyed and rounded, opening up to more ripe stone fruits - apricots. It turns more medicinal but still very gentle - smoke, lemon candy, light medicinal, herbaceousness - dried basil. Black tea tannins, peppery all round.
Finish
Medium to long finish. The fruitiness turns a little more towards citrus - juicy oranges and orange zest in particular. Pineapple and banana in the background. Some oakiness towards the end. Persistent, sweet apple, fine smoke, it's simple, delicate, but it's also very monolithic. A gentle warmth, very Islay-like - light medicinal touch, slight salinity and soot. A final burst of honey and cream on peaches, as well as custard pudding.
