Description

A limited edition bottle, released as part of the Diageo Horizons Unbound collection, this Clynelish 18 Year Old, also known as 'Waxen Sun', takes cuts from earlier in the distillation process, giving tropical fruits and pineapple notes to this classic whisky. It is matured in refill casks to display the distillery's signature waxy, coastal character, and is bottled at natural cask strength. Expect a wonderfully waxy texture, lemongrass, and sweet malt, with a vibrant, fruity, and sharp feel.

Palate
Creamy-smooth and waxy texture with lemon oil, tropical fruit, vanilla, warm spice, golden syrup, honeycomb, mild pepper, white fruit (peach, pear, melons), gentle peat smoke, orange zest, orange blossom honey, pink peppercorns, peaches and cream, pineapple upside down cake, candied ginger, buttery shortbread, mineral edge, passion fruit, and apricot.
Finish
Medium to long, spicy, and warming, with a freshly fruity aftertaste, lingering creamy toffee, oak spice, stewed stone fruits, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, gentle honey, beeswax, a mild drying tannic note, sweet citrus, heather honey, clean mineral freshness, white chocolate, coconut, and creamy oak.
