Description

A malt distillery in the Highland region of Scotland and part of the Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo. The current distillery was built in 1967 and despite its long associations to the Johnnie Walker blends, it has one of the oldest single malt brands as well.

Nose
Pure, chiseled, and mineral with chalk, wet pebbles, and a whisper of candle wax. Hints of jasmine, lime peel, honeycomb, and Haribo Happy Peaches. Fresh fruits like peaches and pears, light floral notes, eucalyptus, fresh almonds, subtle honey, and coconut shavings.
Palate
Pleasantly waxy mouthfeel with sweet candy-esque peaches, honey, white pepper, and a sliver of pineapple. Vibrant fruity hints of green apples, limes, and kiwis, coupled with mild vanilla and banana cream pie. Powerful, cutting, and texturally ample with chalk, wax, and lemon.
Finish
Medium to long, with mineral notes, a slight leafy edge, and lemon pith. Lemony and waxy with green, leafy hints. Pristine, on citrus fruits and aniseed touches, with a nicely mineral and slightly saline aftertaste. Red apples, honey, and warming oak spice.
