Description

An unusual Clynelish with just a slight trace of waxiness: the finishing casks have added sweetness and spiciness, developing the distillery character in an interesting way. From depths of dark molasses, a radiant sweet-spice glows. Secondary maturation in PX/Oloroso Seasoned Casks.

Nose
Waxy apples and honey, rich vanilla, hints of citrus and oak. Creamy top notes give way to light yet complex fruity and herbal aromas, subtle suggestions of fruity mincemeat, tinned pears, and heather honey. Spicy scents of oak.
Palate
Full bodied, Seville oranges, honey and beeswax. Spicy heat and lingering pepper notes, heather honey, complex fruity mincemeat, creamy top notes. Rich and wine-sweet, balanced by peppery, oaky spice. Very spicy, cardamom, and chili pepper. Aromatic, creamy texture and sweet toffee notes, red fruit, sweet rum and walnut notes.
Finish
Medium to long. Ripe green apples, hint of lime zest. Remains waxy and rich, with medium sweetness. Soaring intensity from sherry casks, wine sweet flavors and pepper spice, tinned pears, bright sweet fruitiness. Quite long, chili-spiced, and drying, with lingering pepper. Creamy, nutty – walnuts and almonds.
