Description

A malt distillery in the Highland region of Scotland and part of the Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo. The current distillery was built in 1967 and despite its long associations to the Johnnie Walker blends, it has one of the oldest single malt brands as well. The former flagship brand of Perth-based independent bottler, Decadent Drinks, and the catalyst for the company itself to be founded. Released between 2019 and 2024, its catalogue totalled 220 bottles over 100 editions and each were thematically labelled based on Angus MacRaild's Whisky Sponge blog.

Sweetness, richness, polished oak, oranges, apricots, ginger, leather, herbal edge, greasy layer, waxy citrus, drying, sharp but sweet sherry, strawberry boot laces, balsamic, salt and pepper, bitter waxiness, leather satchels, hay, chopped walnuts, pickled ginger, honey, old orange liqueur, pan fats, lime sourness.

Long, waxy, citrusy, lightly sweet stone fruits, mineral notes, minty, tangerine, drying chalk, mentholly cask char, deeper sherry influence.
