Description

A bespoke bottling by Compass Box for Bounty Hunter in Napa, California. This blended Scotch whisky is made from nine different malt components from the Highlands, Speyside, and Islay, and two sources of grain. Half the whisky was aged in sherry butts. It was bottled in October 2017 at 46% ABV, with only 369 bottles produced. It is natural color and not chill-filtered.

Nose
Pears and lemon at first, then green apple drizzled with treacle, amid a background mist of fresh pepper. Evergreen shrubs, hints of Japanese cedar, heavy on licorice notes with cardamom and cinnamon.
Palate
Huge swell of rich flavor that settles down into cornbread, lemongrass and pepper flakes. Oaky up front with cinnamon and cardamom following, almond extract, still plenty of licorice, fleeting cotton candy notes and caramel.
Finish
Long, tangy and dry. Oak lingering with cinnamon and anise for a short while.
