Description

This is the Great King Street Experimental Batch TR-06, a blended Scotch whisky from independent bottler Compass Box. It is a smokey release, composed of 33% Lowland grain whisky and 67% malt whisky from Islay, Speyside, and the Highlands. The whisky was matured mostly in first-fill bourbon casks with a finish in new French oak. This was a limited release of 3,805 bottles, bottled in 2013.

Palate
Clean and fresh, pepper spice heat, sweet, apples and other green fruits, oak, sweet peat, smoke. Peat, white pepper, barbecue sauce, sweet wine, sugared rose water, salted bacon, grain, warm barley, warmth, apples, raisins, seaside, polo mints.
Finish
Sweet peat smoke and green fruit juice, medium-long finish, drying with oak tannins. Smoke, spice, peaty wood, lingering, woody, apple pie.
