Description
Compass Box Phenomenology is a limited edition blended malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46% ABV and released in 2017. It is non-chill filtered and has natural color. Inspired by the philosophical concept of phenomenology, Compass Box intentionally withheld detailed recipe information at launch, encouraging drinkers to experience the whisky without preconceptions and form their own subjective tasting impressions. The blend is comprised of five single malts: 72% Glenlossie from a re-charred hogshead, 24.5% Tamdhu from first-fill Bourbon, 2% Highland Park from a re-charred hogshead, 1% Talisker from a refill butt, and 0.5% Caol Ila from a hogshead. This unique composition aims to combine seemingly dissonant flavor profiles to create a compelling and harmonious experience.
