Founded in 2018, Abbie Neilson and Chris Jaume decided to spend a few years travelling around Australia. It was here that they decided to learn about the process of whisky after a trip to Sullivans Cove in early 2014, a few months after the distillery won World's Best Single Malt Whisky. After a few years of educating themselves on every aspect of distillation and starting a business from scratch, they founded Cooper King Distillery in 2016 in Sutton-on-the-Forest, North Yorkshire. The distillery is known for its sustainable practices, running on 100% green energy and producing net-zero-energy whisky. Sundown is part of their Expedition Series, a journey of discovery through the finest casks in their warehouse. £1 from every bottle sold is donated to their charity partner, Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
