Nose
Warm and spicy with marzipan, star anise, baked cream, and macaroons, becoming sweeter like freshly baked cake. Aggressive notes of pine tree, truffle salt, anise, and waxiness, with buttered burnt toast and toasted cereal. Robust, meaty, black coffee with tea notes, red fruits, creamy hints, and soy sauce. Biscuity, clean, fruity, with soft wood, vanilla, caramel, dried apricots, fresh hazelnuts, and a hint of smoke, vanilla ice-cream, lemon sherbet, and smoked lime peel.
Palate
Gentle and polite, opening to a sweet and welcoming profile with a vinous vein, ripe apricot, short pastry, almonds, aniseed, and wood wax. Orange and toffee crisp, with vanilla and candied bacon over a brown sugar base. Bold and strong with chocolate and sherry. Very sweet on entry with vanilla ice-cream, lemon sherbet, mocha, hard coffee candy, and chocolate custard. Fruity with some balancing wood notes.
Finish
Long and soft, with macaroons, cream, and wood. Lengthy with toasted barley and stewed fruits. Medium with chocolate and a quick exit, leaving woody bitterness and an uncatchable note.
