Nose
Fragrant, grassy, herbal, dry and sweet. Waxed wood and polished leather. Burnt sugar, like crème brulée. Linseed oil. Waxy and floral, light, delicate and vibrant. Old smoke and toast. Distant yellow fruits with a hint of tar. Hints of barley and (floral) soap, old furniture, pencil shavings. Soft white pepper and discernible sweetness. Dusty, fruity and slightly waxy. Tropical fruits, pineapple, guava, light breakfast honey. Melon and peach, freshly squeezed oranges. Whiffs of white pepper. Complex aromas including almond oil, sherry-like, papaya, ripe mango, plantain banana, apricot, sandalwood cigar wrapper.
Palate
Dry; thyme and pepper, also sweet; liquorice and orange blossom. Acidity, nuttiness. Tropical fruits and quite sweet. Cannabis and dish-water. Old papers and slightly cardboardy. Cream and tired oak. Stunning attack on fresh fruit salad and white pepper. Bold, rich, yet clean and fresh. Lots of honey, fresh fruits (melon, pear). Oaky notes (tannins, pepper, vanilla, cinnamon). Creamy, lightly oily texture, sweet then pleasantly tart, hint of caramelised orange, oaky-dry with light tannins.
Finish
Medium to long, dry, flowery, cleansing. Pleasant nutty aftertaste. Oaky bitterness, fruity waxiness. Long, beautifully balanced finish on pollen, and white pepper. Quite long, with a gentle, spicy warmth, and finishing dry, with vanilla fudge lingering.
