Nose: Complex and mature with dried fruits, polished oak, soft peat smoke, dark toffee, vanilla biscuits, orchard fruit, baking spice, and hints of wax.
Palate: Rich and layered, offering raisins, fig, treacle, gentle smoke, spiced oak, velvety texture, fruity notes of grape, lemon, honey, vanilla, and apple pie with cinnamon.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering sherried sweetness, subtle smoke, refined oak spice, earthy peat, blueberry, cocoa, and a hint of oak.

The dried fruit and treacle give this a sweet core, while the baking spice and oak keep it from feeling too soft. The gentle smoke adds another layer without taking over. That balance makes the character appealing to me.
