Nose
Complex interplay of green apples and toasted nuts, interwoven with rich notes of dried fruits, candied peel, and a hint of treacle or brown sugar from the Madeira influence. Red berries, citrus peel, fine wood.
Palate
Rich and chewy, with waves of sweet figs, dark honey, spiced marmalade, and perhaps a touch of grape or nutty complexity. Balanced by malty, slightly savoury character and a warming peppery kick. Juicy, sweet, with candied fruits, malt and Madeira spice.
Finish
Long, warming, and distinctly rich, leaving lingering notes of dried dark fruits, sweet spices, and a satisfying oaky warmth. Long, round and with a fruity-sweet aftertaste.
