A small batch limited edition single malt from Craigellachie distillery, part of their Exceptional Cask Series. Distilled in September 1995 and bottled 23 years later in 2019 at 46% ABV, this release is one of 3198 bottles. Known for its distinctive, meaty character and sulphurous notes due to its production methods, including worm tub condensers and oil-fired kilns for malting. It is non-chill filtered.

Nose
Gentle sherry, brown sugar, leather, raisins, molasses, diesel, mechanics shop, with a rich, aged, and slightly sulphurous character.
Palate
Thick and rich mouthfeel, salted caramels, burnt butter, Kouign Amann, leather, raisins, overripe plums, dark chocolate, gunpowder, with a hint of sulfur. Initial sweetness, followed by waves of sherry, fruits (dates, figs), tropical fruit notes, and muscovado sugar balanced by spicy oak.
Finish
Long, leathery, with bitterness like dark chocolate, woody, and plenty of oak. After water, it becomes longer with strong strawberries, under-ripe berries, grilled pineapple, and blackberries.
