Description

Daftmill is a farm distillery, owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, producing a light Lowland whisky. The distillery operates only during the farm's quiet periods, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. This 2010 Winter Batch Release was distilled from Publican barley harvested in August 2009 and malted in summer 2010. The whisky was matured for 12 years in twenty-five first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, filled in November and December 2010, and stored in a dunnage warehouse until its bottling in 2023. This limited edition release consists of 6,550 bottles.

Very classical Daftmill with distillery character, freshly mown grass, green herbs, crushed nettles, yellow and green fruits, flowers and pollens.
Palate
A good balance of sweetness with fruits, citrus curds and custard, along with slightly drier tones of fruit teas, chamomile and linseed oil.
Finish
Medium in length, with a good balance of sweetness and dryness and elegant floral notes.
