Description

Daftmill is a farm distillery owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, running only during the farm's quiet periods in mid-summer and winter. Francis Cuthbert oversees the estate, growing the malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky. The barley variety Optic was grown in their South fields and harvested in August 2006, then malted in Alloa in summer 2007. This 1st fill Ex-Bourbon barrel from Clermont, KY, was distilled on March 5, 2010, and bottled exclusively for Berry Bros & Rudd.

Nose
A superb example that shows plenty distillery character but also a maturity beyond its years. A lot of citrus, honey and gentle medicinal and herbal qualities. Beautifully rich and rounded in style.
Palate
A beautiful concentration of sweet honey and citrus, with balancing notes of ales, herbs and dried exotic fruits. Once again, a feeling of maturity beyond 12 years in this one.
Finish
Long, lemony, sweet and floral. Terrific balance all round.
