Description
Daftmill Farmhouse was granted a license in 2003 allowing its first distillation to take place in December 2005. As an independent distiller, owner Francis Cuthbert's main aim was to produce a light Lowland whisky, but - as the site is still an active farm - the distillery has a silent season in spring and autumn whilst work happens in the fields. This specific release, a 2008 vintage, was bottled in 2021 for Kensington Wine Market. The barley variety Optic was grown in Daftmill's South fields and harvested in August 2006, then malted in Alloa during summer 2007. It was distilled in the winter season, filled on April 28, 2008, and bottled exclusively for Canada.
