Description

This Cadenhead's Dailuaine 14 Year Old is an independent bottling of a single malt Scotch whisky from the Dailuaine-Glenlivet distillery in Speyside. Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023, it was initially matured in ex-Bourbon oak and then finished in ex-Oloroso Sherry oak. Dailuaine whiskies are rarely seen as single malts, with most of their spirit used in blends. This release is un-chillfiltered and has no added colour.

Nose
Freshly made toffee apples, sultanas and raisins, furniture polish, hints of delicatessen meats and old cigar boxes. Candle smoke, stewed fruits, prunes, Christmas pudding. Walnuts, copper, polished brass, caramel-glazed apples, pine resin, meaty edge, cigar tobacco.
Palate
Red fruits and oak spice. Vanilla fudge and espresso with Cherry Ripe notes and cinnamon. Date syrup, ripe pears, ginger bread. Cloves, cinnamon, cherry-flavoured candy canes, red berries, fudge, caramel, weak coffee. Dense and expressive, treacle, dried figs, cocoa, roasted nuts, warm Oloroso spice, savoury backbone.
Finish
Medium to long, cereal style with intense coffee bean notes and Christmas cake spices. Praline, peanuts, caramel nougat. Hints of toasted bread with espresso and gentle spices. Lingering sherry sweetness, spice, and dark fruit richness.
